Bridge to Brews

On April 17 the second race of the Red Lizard Annual Racing Series, Bridge to Brews, takes place. There are two distances in the event, an 8K and a 10K. The only one that will do you any good though is the 10K because it is the distance that puts you in position for admiration and respect from your fellow Lizards. Did I mention that the 10K is race number two of the Annual Racing Series?

It’s a unique Portland foot race. Not only is it one of the few that start on the east side of the Willamette but it runs over the Fremont Bridge which usually doesn’t even allow bikes!

The race is sold out, which is a drag because it starts and stops at Widmer Brewing and free beer, live music and serious munchies are an added incentive to finish quickly.

Proceeds from the race go to ALS Oregon and SW Washington in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Hope to see a good group of reptiles there to pound it out and slither into the beer garden.

One Response to “Bridge to Brews”

  1. Just to clarify, both races count toward the participation award. The 10k will count toward the racing award.

    See you all tomorrow!
