Annual Racing Series Heats Up

Three fast Lizards displaying their awards at Bridge to Brews

One of the benefits of being a member of Team Red Lizard is participating and competing in the Annual Racing Series. We are just over halfway through the series with 6 out of 10 races completed. The damp spring weather hasn’t deterred the competition as we’ve seen 90 members run in at least one of the series races so far. Shamrock, The Lake Run and the Red Lizard 5 Miler have been the most popular. We lucked out with great weather at the 5 Miler and the group got together for our first potluck barbeque of the season.

There are several good races coming up, including the always popular Flat Full/Half Marathon and 5k, the BAC 5k, the Catnip 5k and Mouse Miler, finishing off with the Pints to Pasta 10k. Don’t forget that members who complete 5 races earn a Red Lizard Beanie and those who complete 7 races earn an Annual Racing Series T-shirt. Top 10 finishers in the racing category earn a special T-shirt with “Top 10 Finisher” on it. The grand prize is for those hearty soles that run all 10 series races. They get to strut there stuff in a Red Lizard warm up jacket with Annual Racing Series “Ironman Racer” on it. We have three that are still in the running for it this year: Joe Dudman, Elle Davis, and Beth Armstrong. Be sure to cheer them on when you see them. Here are the standings so far for the racing category:
