Summer Series Grand Finale: The Dual Duel This Thursday

Lizards will be hitting the track for the Dual Duel relay.

With Top Ten spots for men and women still up for grabs, the final event of the 2013 TRL Summer Series is only a few days away. The Dual Duel track relay is coming up on Thursday evening at the Catlin Gabel School track.

As a new twist this year, the Summer Series will end with a two-person relay.  Team members will alternate single laps, each running a total of 20 laps for five miles each.  Teams can be male, female, or mixed, with each member earning equal points based on their overall place in each of the three divisions.  Thus, up to six Lizards may garner the maximum 100 points is this final race, adding more drama to an already tight chase for the top spots.

There is one rule: If you are among the top 10 men or women coming into the Dual Duel, your partner may NOT also be in the top 10 (of either gender).  This will help keep things interesting, and ensure that nobody will be able to monopolize the points.

The Catlin Gabel track is an idyllic setting at the north end of the campus, and an ideal spot for a post-race and post-series celebration if people want to bring snacks and drinks to share.

Even if you don't plan to race, you can still come out to cheer!

  1. I have a friend who needs a partner for the Dual Duel. Please let me know if you want to partner up with her. Thanks!
