Spooky Goose. What Could Go Wrong?!

By Jeff Malmquist

Ha! This year, October 31 – witch (see what I did there?) is Halloween – falls on a Thursday – witch is the same day as the Goose Run. Ummmm…see where this is going?!

Yes, the Goose run on Thursday October 31 will be the Spooky Goose. Costumes are encouraged (but not required). For added hilarity, this will also be a Members Appreciation event so everybody’s first drink after the run at the Goose Hollow Inn will be on the club.

We’ll streak through the West Hills, check out the Halloween lights, steal candy from unsuspecting kids (hah!) and vanish like bats into the night. Cry Havoc!

Meet at the usual spot: NW corner of SW 19th Ave and SW Madison St at 6PM. This is about 100 meters from the Goose Hollow Inn and 150 meters from the Goose Hollow/SW Jefferson MAX stop.

It will be the Winter Goose route to/from Council Crest. That means all roads, no trails; about 1000 feet of elevation gain/loss over about 6.5 miles. The run will be entirely after sunset so highly recommend bright costume colors, head lights and tail lights. As always, all paces are welcome; no one is ever left behind at the Goose.

What could go wrong?!
