2022 Summer Series

Spring is in the air, and summer is just around the corner – you know what that means… Summer Series time!

For those not in the loop on what the Summer Series is, it is a selection of races that we encourage club members to join. The goal is to have a solid Lizard presence at the selected events, while tracking member’s performances through a friendly intra-club competition.

The series will be similar to past years. There will be a top ten list for men and women, with the top 5 being based on how members place in the events they run. The next 5 are based on participation – so the more events you race, the higher your rank. Members who do more events stand a better shot at placing better through either method, since you never know who is going to show up on any given day.

This year’s series will feature 7 events. The score from your best 4 of the 7 events are used to calculate your performance-based score, and the participation score is based on the number of events you do. Whether you run fast, or run often, the Summer Series is a great way to enjoy some fun intra-club competition.

  1. Carson to Stevenson Ridge Run 10-miler (May 14)
  2. Lake Oswego Lake Run 10k (June 5)
  3. White Salmon Backyard Half Marathon (June 18)
  4. Rose City Mile (June 25)
  5. Foot Traffic Flat Half (July 4)
  6. SW5K (July 31)
  7. Strava Segment

There may be discounts on several of the events, so keep an eye on Facebook, as that is likely where we will share updates about deals for TRL members.  For example, the first race of the series, the Ridge Run, is offering a $5 discount to TRL members.  It will automatically deduct the $5 for TRL members when you check out on RunSignUp.

Looking forward to seeing some Lizards out there at the races this summer!

  1. Just making sure folks know the sw5k has been moved to end of July on the 31st and is a 9AM start time instead of 5PM for the first time this year. It has been part of the TRL Summer Series in the past and we always enjoy having your community out there with the others drawn to the race. Maybe the final “Strava Segment (TBD)” can coincide with it somehow.
